anyone local to lincolnshire good with engines??

ive got a gti, with a tsr donnington engine. now when i first put the engine in it was rapid. just wheel spun, since then the engine got messed bout with, and isnt anywhere as fast as it was, timings spot on, and so is the mixture, what else cold it be? not i can take it to a run of the mill garage, but there not farmilliar with mk1's so there abit stumped not theyve strobed the timing and co'd the mixture.
anyone help??

Got the same issue really - need someone who can adjust mixture on k-jet. I'm in peterborough, did you find anywhere?

nope. i dont wana go to an everyday garage. cuz there not farmiliar with golf engines, so.... take ages and cost me the earth.
