annoying oil pressure light on n buzzer

hi there.. i vam currently having a problem with  mk1 golf gti 1600 on a 83plate,, when the ignition is on there is no oil pressure light,, when started the oil pressure light stays off,, when i rev engine past 2200rpm the light floashes and the buzzer comes on.. :banghead:  there is plenty of oil in the car n this has never happened before,, also i havbe just swapped the clocks couild this be a problem,,, any ideas thanks guys

there is loads of stuff on here about the oil pressure problems.

i personally had a problem with the buzzer coming on when the car warmed up.  Unfortunetly it WAS due to no oil pressure and 4 weeks later my car is still away getting a full engine rebuild.

hi there cheers for that i know there are loads of post on here i just wondered if the changing of the clocks had anything to do with it as it has only started to happen since i changed the clocks,, on the old clocks everything was fine,, regards

could just be that you have not quite connected something at the back properly.  Do you have the VDO gauges too?

Just please make sure that it is not actually your oil pressure.  :oops:

hi there mate,, i have put my old clocks back in the car and the problem has gone away,, so its all good,, the other clocks were out of a 1300mk1 so i think the resistance to the buzzer must be lower on these as there isnt as much oil pressure needed,, oh well its stopped anyway i can redline again,, cheers
