water system pressure
now she keeps blowing the same hose off.
i have noticed that the water system is very very pressurized. i cant squeeze the top hose at all
the engine was originally ran with a expansion tank but now she's in a s1 shell its got a top fill. i blocked off the old hose to expansion tank. didn't know if this had anything to do with it either?
at first i thought the thermostat thingy wasn't working so i removed it and she's still the same
its from cold as she starts to warm up (1 min idling)

if you are gonna drive down put your heater onto hot (sweaty stuff) and trip the fan out mate (piece of copper wire over both contacts on thermoswitch on radiator)

you can wreck head altogether though rov,

Fan already shorted out to be on when ignition on. Heater on and sunroof open lol! Would i be safe doing head gasket now and getting it torqued down later? I can do them to the ft setting for now! Bloody golf!

So, you might arrive at Gaydon on the back of a truck with a seized engine - much more difficult to fix than a blown head gasket.
I can't really see the point of having the head off and not checking it for flatness and skimming if needs be.
