throttle cable grommet?

Hi everyone,

right, it's time to sort out the (pierburg) carb. I've got a weber on the way, but i started fiddling with the pierburg last night for the first time and found this:

so, for some reason i've got a 9/16 socket on my throttle cable. nice. I presume that there should be some sort of grommet on the throttle cable that sits in that horseshoe shaped metal bracket? Anyone know where I can get this part from? Any advice?

Cheers!

on our 1.5gl we do not have a grommet but it looks like the hole on the body has opened up. the slider presently against the socket in your photo is against the hole on ours.

yours may have been fitted with a longer throttle cable than it should be but I am only speculating.

Hi cheers for the reply.

I think the cable must be either too long (or has stretched?). The reason being that the furthest point the slider can sit on the throttle cable still means that it isnt any where near the little horseshoe bracket.

Surely the throttle cable be shortened at the carb end?
