Probably a newbie question, but shortened sump?

Hi all,

I'm quite new to the mk1 game, but am looking to lower her more, but the sump is sitting too low at the moment for my liking, is there anyone out there that sells a shortened sump for a 1984 1.5?

The car isnt really sitting that low, but the sump is sitting fairly close. I cant get a picture of the sump at the moment because she's at my brothers house

looks like it sits around the same height as mine. cant fit a standard trolley jack under mine.

very interested in knowing about the sump though as i wouldnt mind going lower. my sump is about the width of my hand from the floor. no issues on it hitting the floor though. just the exhaust. lol

if its got a later mk2 sump on it that might explain things, the mk1 has a smaller sump with more clearance

just as a reference this is what it sits like now, with the sump nearly on the floor! I haven't touched the ride height since I've owned it either!

im looking at a similar thing with mine, currently the sump is the lowest point, about an inch off ground (asking for trouble). i know some cars have aftermarket race sumps which are wider but with more clearence. im yet to find any mk1 ones though.

I had the same problem, and ended up making a sump out of stainless steel... Although I am currently in the middle of making a shallow sump that will sit roughly an inch higher
