loud knocking at idle and low revs

as soon as i get passed it she runs smooth as a nut.  but in traffic if i settle around the point where she runs smooth/rogh meet  she'll kangaroo.  as the revs climb and the noise goes i seen to get a surge of power

i loosend of all injectors one by one while she was running and no 4 seemed to make no diff to the idle and the others did.  no i thought  aha!!! injector.  but i got 4 spares in shed put one on  the same so i tried them all and all the same.  tried no 4 injector on no 3 and she ran the same. so injectors are fine .  but i have no idea wat it could be

whatever it was has gone and taken whole engine with it!!!!

wont start!!  diesel to all injectors.

she'll just turn over and over and over and over splutter and die

Still got the petrol engine, to put back in???

no its incomplete!!!!!!

just discovered that the noise was an injector rattle!!!! and now its completely gone so thats all i need!

i been thinking of  putting a petrol in but a manual carb one maybe a 2.0 on carbs but a long way into the future!  or just stick with a mechanically injected turbo diesel

fixed it wait for it!!!!!

the fuel filter was full of well erm lard!!!!

been running on neat veg oil some used some not think thats to blame.


put a new filter on and runs like a dream again!!

what about the knocking has that gone too? coz i get a knocking too sounds similar

poke to peps on the gtd forums and they ave diagnosed it as incorrectly timed pump.  i don't have the right tool o time it up so i did a bit of guess work but still cant get it right.  but i have turned the fueling rite up and now she does run mother and smokier
