help please!!!!

hi

ive got a 1.8 carb '91 clipper cab which is giving me stress and sleepless nights

she wont run when cold so i have to start her up with choke pulled out and leave her running like that 10.mins , then i push choke in she'll stall so i turn ignition off wait 5min she start perfect ??????????

also now when running at normal temp as soon as your foot goes on the clutch she cuts out, unless i get choke out quick enough to keep revs up???????????????????

if that wasnt enough ive got a clicking or crackling noise when driving coming from fuse box ???????????????????????????
any help would be fantastic

thanks

Push the choke in gradually during warmup, the first 10-15 mins or so.

sounds like 2 different problems. I reckon the cutting out is carb freeze. Find posts on it and see what you think.

In effect you're saying the engine won't idle. It only stays running if the choke is pulled out, raising the revs etc, or the car is in gear and moving. Don't think this is carb icing as you wouldn't get it when car is stationary. When was the car last serviced and how long have yuo been having this problems? Checking the condition of the carb and vacuum hoses, the fuel mixture and ignition systyem would be a good start.

Clicking and crackling from the fuse box sounds a bit worrying, is it getting warm, any burning smells, any water leaks?
