Engine cut out problem

My 1985 gl cabrio cuts out every few hundred miles and restarts ok if i take off and put back the petrol line. Ive cleaned out the tank and re[placed the fuel line throughout, but it still happens. Any Ideas? It has a 1595cc carb engine .

Check the Fuel relay. could be the problem

Carb engines don't have a fuel relay, or a fuel pump relay.

It could be a blocked breather causing a vacuum in the tank, which the fuel pump is unable to pull against.
