Hello all,

I'm looking to flush the coolant system and replace the hoses.

I'll be taking the water pump off, doing the cam belt and then putting it all back together.

Is there key points to look out for with the water pump and the rest of system?

Where is the best place to buy a full hose kit? I'd like all the hoses to be black but have found a blue kit 🙄

Coolant system

The cam belt does not drive the water pump, so can be done separately.

Change the thermostat while you’re at it.

Briano, who makes that?

I'm looking to replace the whole lot and thought a complete kit might be cheaper and easier to order but maybe I'll just go individual parts.

Thanks JazzyDog, I know I'm just servicing the lot. I'm looking to clean the engine bay while I'm at it, with the alternator and water pump off for better access.

Does the water pump have a gasket and the thermostat an o ring?

Flushing and back flushing your Radiator isn't a bad thing to do at this time as well as your heater matrix, which you can do separately.

I have a how I do it on my 90's Cabriolet with Power Steering and a/c

If you are replacing your WP, then I urge you to buy a 1/4 drive inch/lbs torque wrench and one at a time remove all the bolts on your WP (if you buy the WP and housing together.) and apply copper grease to the bolts as they will corrode and be harder than hades to get out later.
Going back set the re-greased bolts to 87 in/lbs or NM setting spec'ed in the Bentley.  You won't strip them, and they will be secure.  

Added Protection for the bolts is to Spray them with Battery Protective coating on the back side, as it prevents corrosion from creeping up the back side of the bolts.

Drilling a hole in the lip of the t-stat, 1/8 or 1/16 of and inch prevents the air bubble from hades if you don't fill it properly.

Just my 2 cents.  

and the newer all aluminum Radiators operate a tad bit cooler, and well the only thing I had to do was to remove the bosses off the Front that can hold a radiator fan,

Thanks for the advice.

I'm going to take the WP and check it over, clean and refit it if its okay. Will follow these points thanks 👍
