ABS code engine alternative for EX type ?

Hello all,

Wondering if I could use a ABS monopoint injection injectionout of a '91 Golf 3  instead of an EX engine when I change out the monopoint injection for the complete EX carburetor setup ?

Are there other things that need to be changed / altered or just not a good idea ?

the ABS lump is similar to the older 1.8 engines, however it has a block breather on the front where you need to mount your carb fuel pump.  apart from that it'll all drop in, so if you were to wire up an electric fuel pump then you'll be sorted

I like to use just the head which I am going to have rebuilt as a spare to change out the head together with the head gasket

Will save me a lot of time

Is the head the same ?

Pro's or con's on this idea ?

its the same as a mk1/2 1.8 carb head
