JUst need to negotiate the slalom of red tape the DVLA are putting me through over the engine tranfer…BEWARE all who are doing one!
If its going up in size prepare to be utterly and completeley frustrated with the incompetance of them all.
anyway!!
Nice and clean and polished…Nice driveway ornament eh?
(ok ..thats enough about the DVLA phil!)
One from the back…not entirely sure about the lights. gonna be lamin-x'd Red or smoke when I decide.
Opinions please, especially on those lenses.
Cheers lads and lasses!

Lights wise the newer crystal style lights don't look very good in my eyes, the older style, non crystal lights will look good. All red will look good with the blue, but you will have issues with reverse like you say.
I have new orignal style ones on mine which I like. Maybe keep a eye on ebay see what you can find?
Are you on the road now then?

I wont be bringing her home this evening because its decided to blow the little water pipe that connects the water pump to the oil cooler.
dropped it's coolant on the rolling road. bit of a disappointment that.
Bit of a shck too cos it drove beautifully to the garage.
I'd forgotten what its like to drive a Mk1, Its fantastic isnt it?!
Especially with the valver in it, really does go above three grand!!
Oh well I hope its better news tomorrow..I'l certainly update..
Oh and the badges were just sprayed black, then laid over with masking tape, carefully cut out the letters with a nice new scalpel and flicked over with silver, job done. Got some new ones on it now from a lovely bloke on this forum. Mr Bouchay is the man if you want those!

Honestly dont beleive on what too.
Ever since I've owned the car the ONLY thing that has worked from start to finish was the lights…today it decided to go mental!! Dipped beam is a thing of the past, the full beam warning lamp has gone on strike and the fog light only works when full beam is on..ace!! I'm a dunce with electrics they make my head go funny. So we had a root around at the rolling road, I must say the lads at Pro-Tec in Preston are fantastic! He genuinly wanted to suss it out as much as us. Great guys!! anyway, no joy.
So its gonna be an auto electrician unless I suss it over weekend.
So there we go. Passed everything else with no advisorys at all.
Any auto electrically minded folk out there who might be able to help? It'd be greatly appreciated!

Finally.after all this time, passed. It was just a poor earth under the dash causing the hassle. So thats it just tax to go. Drove it home after the tune and mot and its pretty quick. Pulls well from low down and then the powerband comes at around three and a half thousand rpm and it pulls like a train. Over the moon with it. So like I say just tax and I'm away!
Yippee!!
