1.3 throttle cable
What are my options? Not looking to cut the cable as that's what caused the grief with the old one and I don't have anything decent tp put on the end anyway.
I can grab a bracket from a weber sat in a friend's garage that looks like it has somewhere for the throttle cable end to hook onto, but I don't see how that would work as the cable wouldn't move then.
There's also the gap in the side of the rocking throttle lever which I could pass a bolt through and put a nut on the other side of, but would this on its own put enough force on the cable to stop in slipping when I push the accelerator?
I should add that this is a 1.3 from a mk2 golf, but I presume that as the engines are so outwardly similar the inlet manifold and thus the carb would be in basically the same place as the original engine that came in the car.

Well, I got round this problem by using a throttle rocker from a 'big block' DMTL which worked with the cable to a degree but the longer rocker arm fouls the inlet manifold at about 2/3 throttle, and now I've got the new engine in I'd like to do it properly.
Are there different throttle cables between the small and big block mk1s, and if so what's the difference? I notice I can buy a '1.1' throttle cable but everyone selling it goes to great pains to say it fits the 1.1 only. Was the carburettor really that different between the 1.1s and 1.3s?

(no idea what the difference is, but if you do a search for either cable, you'll find that when you find one, it doesn't list the other engine, so they MUST be different)
