I think there is maybe a bit of a dirty tricks campaign going on.  Initially the Terms and Conditions stated that the person with the highest number of votes would win.  However in the past few days they have changed the wording to say that it would be calculated as a sum total of the rankings given in those votes.  It then went on to refer to the unforseen level of "spam voting" and saying that these would be removed once the calculations are done.

I'm not sure what they are referring to but I think there is a possibility that the other contestant with the high votes is getting people to vote for her with 10 stars and then vote for me with 1 star so that my rating goes down. My reason for thinking that is every time a vote goes in for her, one appears for me too.  However if my interpretation of the T&Cs is correct this should be picked up at the final stage and those votes disqualified so if this is happening then the other contestant is wasting her time.

Magners at the outset encouraged people to use facebook etc to get votes so I don't think they are classing posting on forums etc as spamming. Time will tell.

In to the last week of this now and still needing votes if anyone would be so kind to do so.  If I win I'll send a few quid to the club.

Unfortunately not. Although I have slightly more votes, I have a lower rating which I'm convinced is due to the other person getting her mates to mark me 1/10 to drive my rating down.  :twisted:  It seems rating will be taken into account now whereas that wasn't the case when the comp was launched.

You'll all be glad to know that I am into the final 2 days and then I promise I'll shut up about it.  

If anyone can take a couple of seconds to vote, I'll send good karma to your MK1s.
