Fuel wont go in
Just brought a 92 clipper yesterday…always wanted to have one of these….but the guy i brought it from turned out to be a !!!!!!!
I am having problems putting petrol in the car as there seems to be a leak….not in the tank but the pipe that connects to the tank….I can see the pipe is rusted and has 2 holes so everytime i put the nozzle in…petrol comes out over the rear wheel
Thank god it wasnt the tank…any advice on how difficult it is to change? and how much should I pay will be greatly appreciated??
btw is this called the fuel filler pipe?

Thanks
Im not very mechanically minded so im going to take it to a local mechanic…..Does it need to go on a ramp? Im worried about how much it will cost me!
Does anyone know how difficult it is to clean the tank?
Massive thanks in advance

How straight forward the job is would depend on what they find when they take off the old pipe. Hopefully little or no rot around where the filler neck attaches to the body. Job probably takes 30 mins to just over the hour depending on if they clean under the arch, reseal and possibly apply a coat of paint to the new filler neck.
Doesnt need a ramp, can be done easiy without, just saves working on the floor.
Id think about doing it yourself, you will make a much better job.
As for if the tank needs cleaning out, remove the back seat, plate etc and take a look. In a well ventilated area
