mmm interesting some folk do talk bull but you get that everywhere, im not so sure about being up itself comment we have recently had some differing points of view on some stuff but that makes it interesting and just like any other organisation.
please pm me if you have real concerns if someone has upset you as you seem to have an ax to grind somewhere.
after all I have said this a million times "Im on here for entertainment and information and strictly in that order"
if and when it stops making me smile Im off.

while some of use are getting old the insurance discounts seem to work for us i know the younger people struggle to get cheap insurance
as for the members pack i myself did think they were pretty poor i expected a free magazine or brochure introducing me to the mk1oc instead i got a a4 peice of paper now i dont doubt this will change now we have new commitee members dealing with this stuff but surely we the members shoudl get something more ???
perhaps a monthly magazine nothing ott but with all the events and some of whats going on in the different sections showing peoples work

Magazines were discussed in the past, cost/time were ruled out as all that would be in the magazine would be a copy of the website so it never really happened, plus it'd be a massive job for yet another volunteer to undertake

A booklet itself would be a much bigger cost, both to produce and post out, so membership would have to be increased, I know Tian is working on a comprehensive membership pack that will not only look better but feel better when received..

well, technically i'm not a member because my membership came through in my wifes name!!! :dontknow: . so i would like to say that i have learn't a lot from this site, about the car and "other stuff". and if my ?15 only goes to helping keep this forum running for another year then that is fine by me.
we all use the benifit of this site the first time we ask a question. a friend of mine got a fault sorted on her car.
it was a broken headlight switch and they charged her ?120 to find the fault and change the switch.
if i'd posted it on here it could have been found and diagnosed in am hour.
gotta be worth ?15 an hour.

im sure it could could be made quite easily
which brings me to my next point perhaps a competition for people to design such a booklet with all the info about the mk1oc and the cost to make would be an idea :dontknow:

perhaps instead of knocking it on the head someone should work out the cost? of said item

you would need to consider the cost of sending out this booklet and the impact that this will have on the clubs overheads and bootom line figures.
also what is the point of telling new members about what the club has to offer once they have already joined and seen it on a free forum !!
i am sure that this is something that the committee already have in mind but they are looking to get the backbones of the club sorted out first. we all need to learn to walk before we can run and that is the same for this club as well i think.
:cheer: I've got my husband back :cheer:

and sent an email too.
and wouldn't a pdf be the same as a leaflet. it can be made as long as you like and if the member wants it in book form they can print it out.
we are also doing our bit for the enviroment by not wasting paper.(even if it is a little, it's a start)
would that be acceptable bens-cab?

yes the cost is a consideration as is the postage im not on about something big !! a few pages with info in there hand discounts shows all the normal stuff youd expect in a booklet perhaps even a few comments from the chairman or other commitee members!
without sounding rude the thread is for non members ideas good or bad not members saying no that cant be done
lets get the info together before we start debating weather they are good or bad ideas

you could probably get most of the details you need on 8 A6 pages including covers which would only be a few mil thick so would still go as standard post.
Or even a single custom sized UV coated (glossy) sheet folded length ways maybe 200 square folded to 200x100?? would look great and probably be fairly low cost to produce.
Ill stop making suggestions now. you know where i am if you need me.
