My MK1 16v
Well it's about time I start a thread for my MK1! though at the moment I haven't got any details or pictures with me so I'll start by asking a couple questions
I took it in for a pre MOT inspection today and got a long list of things to do but there are a couple that I'm not 100% on..
front and rear of both sills have gone, now, do I replace the whole sill or patch it? and how difficult is it to do for a competent welder? or how much roughly would I be looking at for a bodyshop job? and are the pattern sills any good (crazyquiff etc)?
Also "NSR & OSR chassis excess corossion within axle mount points" is this a common thing? I see repair panels are available for this, is it a big job?
I founda site called Beevers.. anyone used them for panels etc? LINK
Thanks
Adrian

Forget patching the sills, will surely come back rusty before long. Will really be as quick to do the whole lot. All pattern panels will need a little 'fettling' to fit but panels like Hadrian are usually the best.
Beavers Panels you link to are supplying Hadrian from memory so should be as good as you'll get excluding VAG panels
Ref the rear beam mounts, I did mine recently - check my resto thread HERE
Also worth you checking out chudd and markwon resto threads as they done most areas of a MK1 (esp. Mark! ) and well documented
Don't be afraid to get stuck in and just take your time with prep - sure all will go well
Ask away any questions you have, we all like to think we know best
Cheers
Andy
