Fuse Box wire id with pic

Hi there,
Just wondered if you might be able to help me identify this cut off wire going into slot N. ive tried to find a reference to it but cant seem to see where it goes? its a 91 cabby by the way.




any ideas?

That N is for a Manifold heater .

Yeah id checked that thread. Noticed that theres no reference to on there or wiring diagrams. Guess the old owner must have taken a box from another car.

N terminal is there but was never used on that 1983 GTI [same fuze box would have been used by all models of that age] .
I will wager that N terminal has been used to power something else on the car in the past as i would have thought it gives 12v with ignition on .

Makes sense for the manifold heater, as it would have been a fairly high current device hence the thicker wire.
