well d,day is upon me, for the last year or so ive made it a hobby of mine to try and glean the distilled wisdom of the mk1 experts on here, in a bid to make a (small bumpered) mk1 cab as quick as a tintop for less than ?100 using only parts available to vw at the time.
i said my car was quick, for a standard engine, and i was asked to r/r it which i did, then i was told the only way to really find out is on the strip.
so santa pod for the first time it is

i dont know what wooders bhp is, or his mods are, he says its standard, bar k+n iirc

my mods are all over here,(sorry)

but are basic bolt on scrappy bits.

tintop exhaust manifold
k+n filter
audi 100 tb
audi 2.2l coil and air feed, thro the grill.
powerflow back box.

I think its too close to call, based on just the technical details of the cars. I've just worked out the power to weight ratio and they're approx. the same.

It will come down to tyres and who's the better driver!

i appreciate your honesty,
as one whos never had his nose broken…..

rumor has it that wooders has replicated the the dubweiser golf just for the one race and then hes gunna strip it down for scrap. :wink:
