What of? Apart from minute details, there's no difference between the Campaign and non-Campaign.

Ok. To clarify, they're slower, unless driven really fast by wooders.

The fact is, the differences in a Campaign are minor, but do in themselves at a little to the value. There is a perception that they're worth more than this small amount due to the 'mystique' surrounding them, which is no great harm anyway - if you have a Campaign and sell it for ?250 more than an equivalent non-Campaign, then you probably bought it with the price premium anyway!
Historically this club owes its origins to The Campaign Register, which means that a lot of the older (longer serving) members are Campaign owners rather than the non-Campaigns. Its a similar debate to the hatchback vs cabby, or perhaps GTI vs non-GTI one. You can talk about it for ever, but the similarities are far greater than the differences so naturally, the club will stay as supporting all Mk1s.

And, I agree that many brought their Campaigns at a premium price.
However, any MK1 in reasonable condition should fetch more than banger money - I note that the Mk2's are just coming out of that territory, and in many ways they are a better buy (rust mainly) - how long for the MK3's?
