You think your garage is small. That is like a mansion compared to mine! I can just get out of the car if it is parked right up against the other side… And I'm no lard arse either!
That actually made me feel better about my garage

The blinker light is missing a piece so I had to try to fix it.
I took an old "regular" tail light and cut out the blinker glass.
Then I cut out the broken blinker glass from the early tail light.
And finally I put them together after hours of grinding and cutting plastic with my dremel wannabe tool.

That's some nice work on the taillight… And a swallowtail rear panel 8)
Yea, I got the swallowtail panel from a guy on vwvortex forum.
The shipping cost a bit, but I really wanted to restore the car back to the way it was (except for the motor/tranny, i might upgrad it)

But before I can weld on the rear panel I have to recreate some of the rails, where the bumpers are mounted.
Does anyone know how it's supposed to look like?
I'm not quite sure how the outer piece and the bottom piece…
As you see, the other side is a bit rusty so I'm not sure if it's completely as it should look like originally….
I'm also thinking of putting this baby into the car :?

bringing life into an old thread, just a question, did you sandblast all the underarch sealer off or get handy with the grinder?
oh and what did you use when you covered it all up again?
I did use a grinder with a wire wheel on to strip off the body sealer.
It's a long and dirty job

i want to know what you polished your rims with?! 8O
I sanded the wheels down until I got a smooth finish (2000 grit).
Then I used Autosol and a polishing wheel on a electric drill.
Sorry but I don't have any update pics yet.
I lost my will to work on the car for a while and I've been busy renovating my bathroom/appartment so I haven't had any time to work on my car.
The inspiration for working on the car is slowly coming back though
