NWM 11
Say 22nd June……. :dontknow:
That gives people plenty of time to sort themselves out for time off work/ welding/ baby sitting/ and whatever else gets in the way of the country premier regional meet!!!
I would prefer to stay longer at the pub for a chat next month…. unles we are going to meet at 7.00pm prompt and go for a drive to say Southport?
All in favour or otherwise… post below.
Ta, Dan

Yo
The burning question is, how does Ben feel about this???

Ben is fine about it….he (or should that be "she" since he's a boat) just loves taking me on my annual pilgrimage to Paradise Island (IoM). Mind you, when he was new a few years ago, I asked a deck hand what he thought about Ben and his response was….
"Afore he sails, the Capn' takes a lighted candle onto the Poop Deck and if it blows out, he doesn't sail"
Since having her bilges filled with concrete though, she rides like a good 'un…you should try it sometime!
Cheers

Aha it all makes sense now! I tried a boat once, it was a 72 foot yacht and it was alright. The outward journey was great, nice strong winds and it leaned over proper. But the wind died right down for the return journey, so we had to use the engine and it was choppy, etc. so loads of people developed sea sickness.

Valid points, Alan. Walt too, has in the past shown interest in "the older lady" so any of you guys feel free to bring your mums along to the meet. Maybe they can illuminate us with stories of how they loved the lightness of the controls of a Mk1 for the first time, when it was their family car. My mum had a 1.5 GLS (1978 S reg) and would claim that "the car doesn't want to go 70, it wants to go 85" when on the motorway.

I might try that if I get pulled over for speeding again "the car doesn't want to go 70, it wants to go 125 officer"

Cool, no worries. PM me nearer the time and we can swap contact details, etc and I'll make sure we're sorted. Don't worry though its not too tricky to find the place. This shout goes out to anyone else from Chester/Wirral area too….

If you go to a mapping Website (OS recommended):
http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/
press the "I want to get a map now" and then "search for" "Parbold"
You'll find a symbol "PH" (Public House) about 1.5 Km east and 1 km south of the purple circle representing the Parbold target of the search (the blue lines are Kilometre squares)…which is the "Wiggin Tree" just to the right (East) of the text "Parbold" and t'other side of the A5209 road (North) of "Parbold Hall" up "Sparrow Hill". Click on PH which will centre the Wiggin Tree in the frame (the symbol now appears as a pint o'bitter!)…you can zoom out to show where it is relative to the M6 J27.
Check it out
Cheers

Everyone is welcome, no need to ask to join in.
What does everybody think about a drive out to Southport then for some chips? It would make a change to sitting in the pub. Say meet for 7pm then leave about 7.30pm? It would take about 30 minutes to travel plus there are loads of chippy's to get tea etc.
Thoughs people? :dontknow:
(paul_c, your Cheshire mob could even take the short cut home through the tunnels!!)
