i have a mk2 gl with loads of mods, it is now locked up in garage not to be seen for approx 10 years now everything is done, 47,000 miles.
was planning on driving her until i came across this litle beaut last month.
It is a SA import 1.3 citi 98 MK1 golf
I have clean her up quite alot, it is in for a full repsray soon, see what you think
The gear knob as gone now replaced with a leather one which looks better.
It has had a new windscreen fitted, resprayed the steels
full body waxoiled and undersealed, will keep you posted with updates

Are bee sting's dead easy to fit? It's pretty easy to get the wing off to remove the old one but what are you using to smooth over the hole? Any info would be cool.

I looked at the guide from watercooled site about installation, i thought it'd be the same as my mk2 which it is, only difference i found was the roof lining, instead of undoing the stiching on the corner, i simply pulled gently (took approx 10 mins) the roof lining from the rear, i then ran the wire down the side of the rear panel, onto wheelbase and continued straight through to dash keeping the wire down the drivers side of car under the carpet and not putting through the right side of roof lining which would be a big headache.key_ring said
Appear to have a few roof lining issues there….

I feel if i did it the way in watercolled diagram, i would have ended up ruining the lining and having to replace it as it is very tender stuff and easy tears so had to take my time, whereas i dont have to all went back perfect.
it took approx2 and half hours to do, the wing hole will be filled at the bodyshop fella, so dont know what they are using, leaving it to the experts bud
