secoundly your know it all mate(don't we all know one of them) can kiss my arse and suck my balls(hows that for technical), because it can be done, it has been done(see matt-mk1) on here, and you will not blow your engine if you do it correctly. their is a firm(bogg brothers, in york) who specialize in this conversion, they have done micra(1l) and everything up from that.
have a look through the old threads on here, and links to other forums, i've heard of 1300 putting out 100hp on the pierburg, their are polo owners doing the same thing, and the suzuki swift boys have been slapping bike carbs on ages.

ive been caught by the bike carb bug. my friend with a 1.1 has just bought a set of bike carbs off ebay. just a quick question about chokes. how do the bike carbs run from cold? is it enough for the bigger car engine?

What jets are fitted to your R6 Carbs Dan? In order to get a car up and running…
I have been toying with tuning our 1300… Now a 325cc thanks to some bent valves…. And the bike carbs sem to be going for cheep money.
I should be able to fabricate my own manifold too, so when I put it back together I coul put some Bikers on it

mine are gsxr's(jetted to 135 but too lean), which happen to have a near identical port spacing as my head.
si (and anyone else interested) have a look at these books, by the time your finished you'll be able to silence any 'pub expert'

Got mine on the 'bay for ?1 (plus a bit of P&P) - CBR 1000 carbs.
Spacing is a bit off as they are mounted in 2 banks of 2, so I think I'm going to need to strip down and re bank them…
Plan was to put them on KR valver I was given but the engine is knackered, so on the look out for another KR lump!
I have cut down the lower part of the KR inlet manifold which has given me a good start point to make up a custom job to fit the carbs - with tubing as already said…
Don't know how I managed to miss this post so far, but I will keep an eye on it now!!!

si i personally think the standard pump is up to the job(what engine are you running) along with presure reg. only 2 or 3 psi needed.

im running the 1300cc out of the mk2 golf, fuel pump was replaced about 2years ago b4 it came of the road, so only done about 800 odd miles if that! and only just got it bkon the road about 2 wks ago,
i was thinking on gewtting a filter king fuel filter/ pressure regulater when the carbs and that go on anyway.
but i wana do the job properly not worth skimping and saving then finding out you brake down a few miles down the road if you know what i mean.

Any one making their own manifold will have to concider the length of the runners. The length will predetermin at what rpm the power and torque will come in. Best bet is to find some one who has bought a manifold and copy that length.
