New to the VW scene
Have just joined your club. I never knew it existed until my mate informed me.
Anyway I have bought my first VW. It's a 1982 1800 Golf GTI, in black. It's currently on axle stands in the garage, with the interior stripped out ready for the welding etc.
I plan to remove all of the glass, rub down all the rusty parts, refit a few panels and have it painted, simple as that, LOL.
I have one problem though, when I turn on the ignition the rev counter goes around to maximum revs, even when the engine aint running. Any ideas.
Can't post any photos yet as the garge isn't big enough.
Watch this space.

First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!

But I made that assumption based on how standard rev counters work, the golf one may be wired in different, when I get chance I will have a look at the wiring diagram.
