Gear Linkage

Hi new to site but hoping someone can help.

I have a 1800 GTI that i have spent the last 9 months renovating.
Started the engine for the first time today after a comptlete rebiuld, and now have a problem with gear selection.

Could somebody tell me should there be a bush at then end of the first gear selector. (gear stick - shaft under the car - to first shift rods) It  is this  small lever at the end of the first main rod. I have been told there should be a round bush on this small lever. Is this true and where ca you purchase one from.

Yes - GSF do them for about ?12 - called Relay lever I think

If its the one Rich means its more of a hard rubber ball than a bush.

Make sure you get the 5 speed version, the 'ball' is bigger than the 4 speeed one!
