Also installed an electic aerial, wasnt that bad a job with an extra pair of hands from my dad. Took about 1 hour. Went with the one recomended on here rather than the cheap ebay jobs. Makes a big differance to car not having an ugly aerial up all the time… and is cool having it go up and down

Got a link to the underlay by any chance?
Ian
Sorry missed your post its this stuff. Double layer it in footwell and its perfect thickness to original so will stop new carpet pulling at the doors. Can be laid single thickness against firewall. Going to do in boot and under back seats as well given its soundproofing capabilitys

Only slight hikup is I actually already had a 8 inch servo (i thought there was only 7 and 9 until I got part number) but im sure the exrta inch plus the fact the master cylinder is now 22mm rather than 20mm should still add benefit. Hope so was a 5hr job!!
Quick question the rear brake lines had the below 'thingys' on them (see pics right hand side of MC). Is this to stop the rears locking up. I put everything back together how it came off so assume all is well and I kept the diagonal front/rears splits, just not seen these before on a car.
I think it looks a tidy job luckily i didnt have to mess with brake lines like many others who have done this mod been a newer car had the light switch on the brake pedal

I actually think if my car was auto I would crashed it the day I bought it on the way home.
Pedal actually went to the floor before but there was quite a scary advisory on the MOT about the rear brakes anyway.
I replaced everything at the rear end, plus new pads and disks, braided hoses and all new copper lines as well so there was quite a few elements in the equation but the pedal feel was so much better with far less travel

1. Drivers door wouldnt stay open. As I had the door card off thought I would investigate why… well pic speaks for itself. All sorted now with some new bolts/washers and nuts.
2. Air box pipe looked worse for wear. Had split right down middle so looking for a suitable replacement now. FIXED WITH SOME 63MM DOUBLE LAYERED HOSE IN TO EXISTING HOUSINGS
3. Drivers window rattled when shut. Looks like im missing half the window guide rubber thats sits inside door pannel. So emailed few vw suppliers to see if they have a suitable replacement. FIXED GOT SOME FROM VW CLASSICS
4. I also had a bit of play in accelerator peddle where the cable connects so added 2 rubber washers and done the job perfect!!
5. New washer jet hose pipe as other had gone orange lol!!!
Little jobs but they get all the niggles sorted and make it more pleasing to own.

Anyway I like to think I did a thorough job. I replaced all nuts and bolts with 10.5 high tensile ones, new top mounts at the front, new rubber kit to the rear and I painted the strut housing and the suspension top caps with some hammerite under body sealant to protect them for the future. While that was drying I cleaned all the wheel arches out!! Not driven the car as of yet but the stance is just right and despite it been a 25-40mm lowering kit thankfully its lifted the rear slightly as mine was sat really low before… after removing the suspension I know why some clown hadnt fit half of the parts needed in the rubber bushing kit so it had basically just squashed everything in the rear. Will get some pics up of stance when weather is better but pics of kit below.
