Show and shine categories

What's the score with the categories of the show and shine at the AGM.
I don't know which category to enter my car between top 5 standard or top 5 modified.
My car is standard apart from wheels and suspension so won't really cut it in modified but it is not standard either.
I've looked at the cars already entered in top 5 standard but they don't look very standard to me either lol.
What does the club recommend?

As long as its there I wouldn't worry too much.
Make your choice on the day when you see what else is in each category.
We try not to make it too serious but the best cars in each category do win. The runner up in the standard class last year had coilovers fitted, but we over looked it because of the amount of work that had gone into the car as a whole.

I have a quandary too! Mine is most definitely a daily driver - used for work commute, school run, shopping, pleasure etc etc… It's kept pretty clean and is not garaged. It's not going to cut it as best standard by a long way because of this, but I'm going to struggle with 5k miles a year as most of its daily duties are local - it's more like 3k miles I'd say. Which (if any) category should I enter?!

We nearly dropped "Best Daily" this year because its a difficult one to define. A car that is not of concours quality but is it really used as a daily?
I'd say 3K is acceptable for a daily driver. Enough to get a few stone chips and car park dings for sure!
You could bring some past MOT's to prove the mileage.

That's a good idea. It's nearly reached the 3k mark baring in mind I only got it last September and before was in storage by the previous owner for a few years. It does have chips, tiny dents and patina in the right places that's for sure. It's my only car and the wife's is used for her work etc. so has to be used whatever the weather! I do detail it daily as well mind……

Ha ha! I'm not majorly serious - for me it's show and shine, not show and win!
