Just Wondering......

Mk1 Polo Owners Club Meet at the AGM?

I'm also a member of the mk1 Polo Owners Club. We're only a tiny club 'cos there isn't many mk1 polo's left!

We normally have a meet somewhere at this time of year but with all the other shows going on across the country and Europe times of non clashes are getting harder to come by.

I was just wondering if it may be possible for us to come and join in and have a little bit of space for polo's at the AGM? There will probably be only 6 or 7 of us and we're smaller (but lets face it better looking) than big brother so not much space would be needed.

What do you reckon?

You know it's true! Doesn't handle quite so well though. ;)

There was a display of these at Stanford Hall, not sure if it was same club as mixture of Polos and Derbys, but all of them really impressive, I for one would love to see them again.

They will be at least one Derby as I'm bringing up mine. Lady Borednow will be bringing her golf. She likes to drive and I hate being a passenger so the only solution was bring two cars. After all it's only twice the fuel and twice the entry fee  :P

Wonder what the chances are of 2 cars doing a 700 mile round trip each without breaking down?  :ninja:

Hi Ian borednow

We've thrashed the idea about and the initial answer is yes, based on 6 or 7 of you you'd be more than welcome to roll up in your (not better looking!   ) Polos.

However, to be very clear, they wouldn't be eligible for the Show n Shine or parked in the same area as that is a MK1 Golf dedicated area. I'm sure we can find an area in the day parking area, or similar for you to park together.

We hope that meets with your approval -  whilst we are all VW fans and love to see other models, we have always tried hard to maintain the MK1 Golf exclusivity at the show itself in order that we don't become just another VAG show, hence why we have never invited displays from other models/clubs.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Many thanks
Andy

That's awfully good of you old chap. I understand perfectly where you're coming from.

We promise to be very quiet and not to get in the way at all.  ;)

Thanks to all in the committee.

If they weren't VW's no chance in hell, but I have faith!
