Southampton to AGM

Post

Anybody travelling up from the south to the AGM? I live in Romsey, Nr Southampton.

I haven't been to the AGM since Billing, Northampton which was much closer.

GarytheGolf has just got his MOT after 6.5 years.

Just concerned that 180 miles (3.5hrs) might just be bit too far for his first outing. I have only done 70 miles in him since the MOT.

I am bound to meet a few convoys on the way.

I shall be using him to go to work and do a few miles at the weekend before I make a final decision.

I take it that there is no difference in ticket prices for members if you buy them on line or on the day?

You could always join the South West convoy - contact RichyHill or Arf333 if you fancy it !!

Thanks for the info.

I would normally travel up the A34, M40, M6 from Southampton.  I am very familiar with the route as i go to Cumbria quite a bit in my daily drive.

The M5 is a bit too west for me. I will look at the map tonight.

I assume that it will be a very early start to get up there in time for the events on Saturday.

Rich, just looked at the Map.

I should have said, I would be joining the M6 from the M6 Toll which is just above the Hilton Park Services you mention. The toll road cuts out a lot of congestion from my direction.

I note by this time I would have done about 160 miles of my 180 mile journey. I am sure by this time I would have joined other cars / conveys from the south, that's assuming there are some.

Thanks for your efforts. I might even meet your convoy north of the services.

I am just going to add some miles on my car on the M27, only 70 so far in the last 6.5 years.
