After a lot of research I'm favouring the G60.
It's decent power out of the box, well; circa 200bhp after a chip pulley and port (which is most used G60's nowadays). It's a period engine which is effectively the same as the MK1 GTi lump with some fancy bits and a supercharger bolted on. It sounds awesome, it's tunable and if I get a whole Corrado to break it won't hurt the bank balance after it all. Ok, the charger is fragile but as this is a second car barley covering 1,000 miles a year I can live with it.
