Your bodyshell looks amazing! Bet it will look stunning when painted. Have you done the panel work yourself? What engine are you using original or a conversion like me?
In terms of parts most stuff is still available for them. Mark carter at https://www.classic-vw.co.uk has been a saint during my project. Also vw heritage have a lot of parts and a german company called werk34 are quite good also. You cant buy new looms for them anymore and thats one of the things thats been so time consuming for me is going through it all repairing any bad bits. If you need any help along the way with your car give me a message and i will do my best to help out

He smoothed the engine bay as he was putting a 1.8 20vt in, I bought that off him along with a set of BBS RS alloys.
I'm going to sell the engine on but I'll keep the BBS's to see what they look like on.
At the moment it's still in bits, think the loom is in pretty good nick, I'm trying to source an original radiator with cards which seem to be quite difficult to source new.
I have a brand new set of Hella front and rear lights, still in their boxes.
I appreciate your offer, I'm sure I'll be in touch regarding parts.
Did you reupholster your interior as I think I may do this, so any firms that can recover seats would be good.
Mark.

In terms of interior i bought a complete carpet and underlay set from a company called newton commercial, i also got the headliner and boot matt too and they offer owners club discount. My seats and doorcards are in good nick so decided to re-use them i havent actually fitted any of it yet as i wanted to get it running first.

Looking a bit closer to South Wales.
The supercharger will look awesome, never seen one on a Mk1.
Each to their own, that's my philosophy. Ones things for sure, everyone will want a good look at the lump when its completed😀😀.

That will sound amazing, what exhaust system are you putting on it?

Re:
Thanks mate! Ive actually gone for the standard mk1 gti manifold and downpipe as its pretty much impossible to find a 4 branch that fits well enough without melting the steering column boot. It fits really well but is still pretty close to the column boot so im going to wrap it with some sort of heat protection. As for the rest of the system im not sure. Ideally i would like a stainless steel exhaust of some sort but ive got a brand new mild steel system that came with the car so im tempted to use that for now to save some cash. Its something i can add at a later date.Jobypea said
That looks great mate, as you said it doesn't look out of place the the bay.

Thanks mate. I'm lucky as my father in law is a farmer so i have access to a barn. It does have some drawbacks, its super dusty and its really hard to keep it off the car even though i keep it covered when im not working on it.Lhasa2008 said
