I have used a Wide variety of things over the Decades, Bars-Leak solid, Powered, and Liquid…. It is but a Placebo until you get it replaced or repaired…
And I will admit that a heater core (matrix) isn't a fun thing to replace, especially over here on GM's, Dodge's, and VW's where you have to dang near take the whole Dash out to effect repair. Non-A/C mk1's VW's is a tad easier than the A/C ones, and in reality that is about a 2 hour job.
It is easier with the Seat out on the Passenger side, but still getting my Large Heiny under the dash isn't what it was 30 years ago… The easiest ones I ever had to have boiled and repaired were my 58 AH Sprite MK1 and 67 MG midget, as they were both under the hood and in front of the battery….IIRC 10minutes to remove…. Who said old cars have a negative air displacement ratio….. Life was simpler then save for Lucas Lord of Darkness.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
