There are some new fabric bags with some substance inside which does same job, but the stuff in the bag absorbers the water and you dry them out in the microwave. Not tried them though but seem less messy and you could jump in the car and leave them in place.
I would try and find out why car is getting so damp though to attract mould in first place, although once the sprores are there then they can start up quite quickly. A thorough clean would help get rid of them. Just standing outside shouldn't be enough to attract any mould unless there is a leak somewhere. We had an MGF used to be outside and not moved all through the winter without any issues.

When I was storing 1 of my 2 cabbies, it was under a carport, New Top, all Windows closed and tight, during the late fall, I had a Mold issue, I decided to clean it with cleaning agent, (totally awesome, water, vinegar, and one tsp of bleach to a liter of water). I wiped everything down.
I hadn't driven it in a few months (I have 2 Cabbies), so it sat all closed up…
What I did was to start driving it about every 3-4 days, and at least to work once a week. I also left the rear windows slightly down…
Mold will happen in Covered and Clammy weather… Ya, gotta drive them.
Door Drain, They are also in the rear quarter panels to allow water out of the trunk area… I usually blow air or poke a wire in there to keep them clean.
Door plug.
In my Newbie post I have a section on where is my top leaking from…. lotta good hints there.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

at this time of year if it's only slight mold, I'd spray lightly with an anti -bac cleaner for now .
But try to dry out the car. .
