Gearbox for my ABF conversion
I purchased the new engine for the start of my conversion and need to know what is the best gearbox for it.
I have the mk3 gti 16v ABF engine and as far as im aware I require a mk3 gti 8v gearbox please can someone confirm or give me a suggestion for something else.
Cheers
Ross

Is opinion still the same on this? I'm swayed by the better matched ratios of the abf factory box, but is the cable and hydraulic conversion the way to go? And…anyone out there got everything I need to do the conversion?

My ABF still stutters so a little remap after I check injectors etc will be undertaken. If I see 170BHP, I'll be happy, especially with decent ratios, a clutch that doesn't slip and a pair of tyres that actually grip the road :-)
With new clutch, old oil soaked plate being used in an attempt to beat any previous frisbee'd clutch plate, from Glasgow to a very specific north facing window 400miles south at Bridgwater!!!
