As for the engine mount what I had to do was test fit my 20v engine before having the mount welded on the make sure it was in the right place but it looks about right from the pic.

Took the engine off the stand and put the gearbox on as it right proper mucky

De-greased the main super charger mount, ready to paint yey!

Removed the axle, car is now floating

Fuel tank removed, wife will be happy as it was pretty full so the family motor will get it. I noticed there are a few minor rust spots I need to tackle, will strip it back to bear metal, treat, paint, under seal like new

Naf suspension to be removed and replaced with my KW's:

Alloys relegated to the corner:

Rear axle looks in great condition, needs touch up in places but mainly dusty:

Finally my cluttered garage filled with new and old bit lol

I've cleaned up where the tank was, coated it with electrox zinc primer and then coated with epoxy mastic from Bilt Hamber so should keep it protected for some time.
I've fitted my KW coilovers to the rear, fitted a stainless filler neck, refitted axle and wheels so the shell is rolling again.
Have all the fuel parts ready to roll including a new Bosch pump, alloy brackets, alloy inline filter and a stainless pump cradle.
Also bought a 60mm supersprint manifold. Not cheap ouch!!
Next step is to fit the engine

Will get some photos up tomorrow.

I've got the VR6 clutch and cover on, gearbox bolted on to the engine and even managed to trial fit it in the engine bay to work out where the engine mount is required.
only problem I had was the starter motor bolts I bought aren't long enough and the retrofication 02J gearbox mount has the wrong bolts to mount it :(
Does anyone have the part number of the starter motor bolts I require? I've checked vagcat but they are not listed :(

MOTY 2013

mate of mine just had exactly the same issue. for the 2 long starter bolts look in 'starter and single parts' in the electrical section, easier to look under corrado as the golf section is a right mess. for the one that goes thru the front mount look under 'securing parts for engine' engine section:
