 Cheers. 9" servo and 22mm m/c arrived yesterday. Will get servo powder coated I reckon and clean up m/c before fitting. Don't know how the m/c will powder coat

I've just had some parts powder coated recently and was told not to do anything with perishable parts because the temperature used to cure the coating could damage them. It might be best to paint it instead mate.

You mean the servo. I have seen lots of people powder coat them. Take it there are bits that could be damaged inside it then. Or are you on about m/c

I'm guessing there'll be rubber parts in both the servo and the master cylinder so I wouldn't risk it.
I'm going to get my charger powder coated in the next few weeks and I've been told it will be best to strip it down completely otherwise the oil seals and bearings will get fried (lucky it needs rebuilding I suppose).

More bits sorted today. Took the standard servo I have just fitted off and plan to replace with a 9" mk2 servo as you can see its a little tired 



Got the old and new together and followed the guide on here to ensure it would fit in to the old bar set up 



Did want to get the servo powder coated but was advised against this due to the heat in the process that may damage the insides. So spray paint job and am quite please with the results 



Then once dried I put it all back together and re fitted the lot in the car. Decided not to use a second hand m/c so bought a new one from VW heritage and now plumbed back in.



Will bleed the system to prow as I have just bought a vacum set up to help do the job.

Cheers mate. Went for spray hamerite. Lots of people moan about it but a friend painted it on an engine block years ago and its still there with no flaking

Got another problem sorted today. At some point the fuel tank had Ben removed and a custom one fitted in the wheel well then the filler blanked off. This o have no issues with as it removes the possibility of a build up of rubbish under the filler neck that leads to rot as we all know. However the filler was in the boot so when you arrive at the petrol station you,have to look like your nicking fuel and pour it in to the boot.

So after purchasing a new fuel cap, new pipe for the mounting and some pipe work designed for boats I went about fitting a fuel filler on the outside of the car.



Never nice to drill a hole in a perfectly good panel.

Then bigger



Fitted a new filler neck and once done some new fuel pipe in the boot to connect to the tank.

Bleeding the brakes. Was so easy with my new bleeder kit. It's a one man kit that uses the pressure from a tyre to push new fluid through with no pedal pressing and a reservoir reserve to fill as you go. Only took 10 minutes once wheels off.

Cheers guys. Next is to sort the boot. The battery is loose in the boot since its been moved. Also need to put a washer bottle in to get through mot. Going to line the boot and make a hidey hole for both and then carpet over the lot. I will be putting the chrome side strips on at some point. Also an exhaust as while the lots stainless and new its not a proper box on the back just a resonator so bit noisey. I can get a new jetex stainless back box for £190 so might see if I can fit that as it seems daft to bin the entire system if its ok but not sure yet. The fulfilled pipe had to go there as its a custom tank in the wheel well and it seemed the most suitable place as it did not have one before
