Mk1 project slow
I was going to mask of the holes and ports etc but I ended up getting carried away..
ie il just do this wee corner ended up being rubbing chipping the whole lot
Now I'm worried I have dirt and debris in the ports I also filled them with hot water hose😳
What is the usual process for cleaning engines?
Can I flush it out with petrol or the likes do you think?
Compressed air etc or is hot water ok?
It looks a bit cleaner

Not sure what's best mate but on another note check that oem manifold for cracks as they're renowned for cracking
Wish I could find out so I can go further.. Searched google nothing.. But it should be ok.
Manifold looks good mate no cracks etc.. Was considering changing this for a t3 t4 mani but I'm not wanting to alter the bulkhead and get side tracked
I need to stick to the plan

Where did you get water in, down the inlet etc?
Yeah sure did.. turned it round on the stand so it emptied but not sure what to do now? Never wanted to strip it completely as its more time more money but its looking like it now

Do u think? I was thinking off washing it out with petrol? Not sure on that thou? i was hoping not to strip it completely as these heads would cost a packet to rebuild…golf_coupe said

I think if you got an airline in there it would blow any water out.

I used to know but I can't remember now.. I know the agu has the bigger head ports I think the bam and apy had forged parts and different compressions but I'm not sure now. Time for a refresh read up I think 👍smudger1980 said
