Mk3 ABF into a Mk1 Golf C

Is this conversion more difficult than putting it in the mk1 GTi?
Are the mounts etc different and is it doable?
Sorry if its been covered but been offered the ABF so need to know asap.

Am sure the mk3 abf is too tall for mk1 unless its on carbs. Bonnet wont close wi inlet manifold :?

I have a abf in my cab no bonnet issues at bulb and its injection too. Mine was a gti tho so mounts swapd over i needed gti fuel set up tho has it was on carbs before. Its doable just a bit more work when starting off with a small block car

Yer i apriciate anything is doable.
Ill maybe look into a polo engine then if its easier.

You need to move engine mounts
gti fuel set up ie lift pump and main pump
exhaust
upgrade breaks but most do that evan when its a gti
upgrade suspension again most do any ways

can't think of much more but not done conversion from small block. Any engine swap can cost more than you think and is hard to put an exact price on it but can be as dear as you want if you start buying new everything and re building lots of components. Oh and abf is usually imobalised which can be a pain when it comes to wiring so if you get a abf you need engine, loom, imobaliser, halo and transponder
