VW classic parts do supply the small sections too (all in stone grey metallic):
/\ I'm unsure if that's €10.90 for all 4 pieces or each? I use Google Chrome which automatically translates the page and Google translate doesn't make it all that clear!
Link here (see page 4): http://www.etkashop.com/vwcp/Golf-Caddy/Golf-1-Cabrio/Karosserie/Aussen/
If Chubbnut hadn't had the sections in stock when I wanted them I'd have gone straight to VW Classic parts, it just saved me time buying from Chubbnut. I reckon his stock is mainly from Classic parts dept these days anyway.

The reason I went for the ones I did is because there black as opposed to the grey.
Chortle - is there any news on the scraper seals? Also do you know if theres anything I need to take off the old ones to transfer onto the new ones?
Or is it a case of just buying new?

I will then work out the cost complete of these.
I will need minimum 25 takers and a deposit from each person.
There's nothing to add to the scrapers, they just clip into the door top slots.
Cheers

The more I order the better discount I will get.
Think I will order mine tomorow.
Needed to do this earlier, but just get busy with other stuff.
Mind you picked up a nice leather H steering wheel.
Needs a refurb though, just been sorting bits out in the Rivage.
It's getting ready for MOT this week or next.
Might pop some pics up at some point.

This consisted of….
New windscreen seal.
New 6 piece waistline trim kit.
New fuel cap.
New front VW badge.
I have also bought another set of Hella rear lights as mine are looking a bit tired.
I was told they were in great condition but was really suprised to see how good they actually are.
And the final thing that will be fitted to the car is my owners club grill badge (which i completly forgot i had)
I have also been told the car could be painted this weekend

Prep work is 99.9% done when i popped over today.
I spoke to BAS International earlier as they fixed my roof about a year ago and they remember my car going in and said there was no issues with the bodywork under the roof.
Ive got to phone the bodyshop in the morning to see if im going over tomorrow or Friday to remove the roof.
Then its in for paint.

I know what you mean about getting hold of parts, most suppliers will post worldwide but its going to be very expensive.
Good luck with your upcoming build.

Expense is one part of the problem, the other being the logistics of getting bigger and bigger parts to South Africa like bumpers, dashboards, body panels, etc. which can be a nightmare at times. And lets not forget the theft issues we have, many a package I have paid for has never, ever arrived…
We soldier on and look to builds like yours for inspiration…

Never done this before so Carl (chortle) gave me a step by step guide on how to do it. Cheers mate.
Was easier than I thought and as expected the lip was completly rust free, not even a dot of rust.
So im very happy with that :-)

2) Couple of new seals for the roof.
3) Full set of scraper seals.
