Golf Mk2 seat foam

Post

Do Mk2 Golf Gti's use the same foam, side bolster on the back of the seat and the side bolster on the bottom of the seat as in a Mk1 Golf cabriolet?
I've had a look on vagcat.com but can't seem to find the part numbers for either Mk1 Golf or Mk2…

I was hoping to get a passengers seat from a Mk2 as they seem to be alot cheaper and easier to find than a Mk1 seat. Use the foam from that to replace mine which has crumbled into little bit on the floor.

They're a different profile.

However if it helps, someone on the MK2 Golf OC Forum recently posted a thread on refurbing their MK2 seats. They used that regular blue foam you can buy then taped over with duck tape to get the profile. Seemed to work quite well!

That's great news as I won a drivers, passengers and back seats out of a 1988 mk2 golf on eBay for £1.04!
So I can use the foam out of the mk2 golf passengers seat to repair my drivers seat side bolster and seat back side bolster as after 253,000 miles it's a little worn.
