Was very very lucky to find this beauty as it only had 92k and been dry stored most its life and off the road from 1989-2005

Here it is already half stripped down, if any of you guys saw the car in 2012 it was already one of the most solid campaigns I had ever seen , body super straight and had original paint from the factory that had started to blister as it does after 32 years. there was also yale locks fitted ( like Campaign Jerrys ) but I coundnt stand them ( sorry Jerry) and the tow bar and aerial holes had to go so all welding was done

Before any body prep we made sure every panel was lined up perfect as over the years doors has dropped and tailgate and bonnet had moved slightly .

5 Days in , every panel was long blocked to get rid of any imperfections, doors and bonnet off to be worked off the car

any low spots filled in using only Dolphin Glaze very fine finishing filler

Spent 5 hours taking the 32 year old rear decal off without damaging original paintwork !! and still got to take glass out !

This stuff helped a little with the horrible glue

Door Shuts get a proper going over degreased , scotched and all original unsightly spot welds smoothed

The boot floor on this car was pretty much mint but cant paint a car to this level without doing the insides so that will need a proper going over

So thats it for now more tommorow

Then to making way for the new big wheels , didnt want to damage or cut any off the original metal so bought in a professional arch roller and with a little heat folded back the arch lip on itself , then before totally flat squeezed in some proper 3m watertight panel sealant , then completely folded the lip then smoothed the sealant over to give a totally waterproof seal ready for body shutz later then paint .

Then spent hours cleaning every bit of the bottom rails to get them spanking ready for etch then shutz and then paint.

Enough for today more tommorow

So the boot floors now been painted
Original Diamond silver base first

The 3 coats of gorgeous Lacquer

While that dries time for the front panel prep

Decided to last minute weld up the unused holes ( what are they all for anyway lol)

Bought a lead filling kit just incase we needed it but didnt need to at all on the body so had to test it out a bit !!

Then front panel get a proper rust treatment before primer

Boot floor dry

Always liked the 90's colour coded front spoiler look so decided to go through all the sanding and priming and sanding and priming to make one (may not use but what the hell Im doing paint work so why not get one ready)

After 3 coats of high build

Inside of tailgate also get some primer

Major clean up of scuttle now !! 32 years of muck.

After a whole days deep cleaning and sanding and scotching looks a lot better

Looks so much better with fresh paint

Then lacquer

Spent 2 days prepping the inside of doors
the glue from door membrane and old outer rubber was a absolute nightmare

Thats it for now folks more tomorrow

All prep work and internals being done at home using a hydrovane 15 compressor devilbliss guns then all panels and outer will be done at my brothers paint shop
Thought that you were going to do the body & panels in the garage too. Makes sense if you brother has a shop

I've got a tin top that needs prepping and wanted to have a shot at it myself that was all rather than send it out like I did my cabby.
Looks awesome so far

No body shop would do this much detail prep work without charging 6k plus.
Oh and sunroof drains have been pushed in to be fished out after paint
