my new caddy sport

heres a few pics of my recent purchase, its a 1.9 GTi caddy sport fitted with a TSR donington engine with a full stainless exhaust inc 4 branch, adjustable shocks all round p slots (that are now for sale i might add!!) this was it when i bought it about 3 weeks ago




and this is it now after removing the rollbars, changing the wheels, changing the grill as it had been spray painted silver, i also added the whilte lettering on the tailgate too

I remember this off the bay, looking much better without the shonky framing on the back!

the frame work was held on with coachbolts!!! i took it off on friday to see what it looked like without it, and i love it !! so its staying off!!

Nice caddy, its in a better state than mine, mines a shed. What other plans do you have for it? Cheers joe

nor many plans for this one really, not at the moment anyway, but u never know what the future holds :wink:

i dont know!! i only use it for carring stuff to work on a sunday (water containers and stuff) and it is cool 8)

Has anyone successfully used a Caddy to tow a car trailer + car and carry a weekend's worth of tools and camping gear? And be able to acceptably accelerate on a slip road onto a motorway, etc?

ive been towing my catering trailer with it no problems and that weigh's quite a bit, might try it with the towing dolly and the golf and see if it can pull it ok, if it does then a trip to santa pod is on ther table me thinks!!!

I agree, pimped out caddies are the sickest, I was well into getting one before I got the clipper, but I couldn't find a straight one (I'm scared of bodywork) on budget

These two examples were what fuelled my desire for bumpy truck action!

ive just ordered some axle drop plates from the caddy forum :roll: and im thinking of buying some front coilovers from there too :?

Sounds good, the coilies off there seem pretty reasonable as I'd be surprised if anyone else would sell you half a set of a more renowned manufacturer.

The drop plates seem cool too, the axle flip looks difficult unless you're a competent welder :dontknow:
