I would have thought with a decent painter you could make it look that rusty, that's how they get that look in the movies :)

2 1983 Campains (concours & track)
1985 Blue GTi Ragtop
2001 Bora Estate TDi SE (very very rare)
2000 Golf TDI commuter
2005 T5 Transporter with 394000 miles on it!

ok as i said before the location is shopped in but the car is actually that low.

the camaras sensor grid doesn't line up between the car and the location.
however they do line up for the car to wheels. so unless the car had been towed then placed sat on the wheels they are actually on the car.

to do this sort of photoshop means taking the wheels and obliqueing them which whould push the sensor grid round aswell.

i'd also say it was taken with a digital slr from the density of the grid.

^^^^^^^

The car is a photoshop, the camber on the rear would be impossable to get, even with shims.

It reminds me of this notch:

I know camber is easily gained on aircooled rides, but this was set up on air/hydraulics before having a full body resto. They did it that way as the suspension kit was custom made. I could imagine the same being done for the golf in the pic.

This notch was found in an American breakers yard and restored. I can't remember the company who did  the work but the finished article was amazing. The cars can end up looking like this due to the extreme heat/conditions in some areas of america, so the patina isn't necessarily photoshopped.

Nothing is impossible, however there are many things that are extremely hard to do.

Who would have thought a mk1 golf with TVR engine and running gear would have been built?? :dontknow:

If the inner arches have all been cleared and the rear beam has been scrapped then with a custom suspension set up the car can go that low. Just look at the american mini trucking scene, 3 inch body drops and air ride suspension see the trucks driving with their chassis' on the floor.
