BBS RS Split Rims Seller on Ebay - Buyer beware

He is still trading under "bbs.rims.1956" on ebay.
 
Currently trying to sell a set of BBS centres.. someone keeps reporting them though!

I made the inital contact via ebay, he then told me to contact him via a different email addy as the wheels i wanted were not forsale on ebay. I was after a set of 16inch RS's for a corrado VR6. When they showed up they looked great, but one had a different valve diameter. The tyre fitter said they were anything but round but he had managed to ballance them as best as he could. we then went to fit them and unfortunaltey they stuck out the side of the rado by about 2 inchs. So i sent them back.. and this is where the bloke got smart with me. Stopped replying to emails, very unhelpful, couldnt understand why the wheels didnt fit.. i pointed out that i had said the ones on the car were 7 inch and the ones he sent were 9 inch + the 20mm spacer/adaptor so that probably went a certain amount to explain why they didnt fit! There wasnt a hope in hell these wheels were going on my VR6

Anyway i asked for a set that would fit my VR6 but he didnt reply, then i asked for my money back and he didnt reply.. i then said i would settle for less money back and he replied. After much waiting - like 2 weeks and much more hassling he eventually sent me ?500 and said he would send a further ?100 when i sent the spacers back. I have had to settle for this as he is in muchen, germany and there is no way i could have got trading standards on him etc etc.

So i now have a set of spacer/adapter/stud convert for a VR6 if anyone wants to buy them.. there is no way on earth im sending them back to him ill sell them on ebay or give them away out of principle.

The mans name is Michael Wolter email "bbs.rs.rm.1956@gmx.net" i think he knew he was sending out crap and what was i going to do about it! i feel that i have been royally ripped off by someone who is supposed to be well respected in the VW community.. although he said that himself.. lol

If you dont have his address  try and get me some sort of business address and i`ll go round there for you if you like as i hate scumbag rip off merchants.Also i can alert the local Police as to what he is up too!!

yep dont take that crap,get someone round there to sort it out, other wise he will just rip other people off :x

Thanks for the offer Timski but i think its best left for the time being. I did after all accept his settlement, although it was only becuase i wanted to get something back from him!

He doesnt have negative feedback cause he asked me to deal outside of ebay as "the wheels i wanted were not forsale through ebay" so like a c0ck i just went along with it thinking that everyone is generally trustworthy. He did send some wheels but they were eggs, 2 inchs to wide and one was different to the other 3. So they were sent back, which is when he got difficult and stopped replying to emails.

He did have -ve at one point but it was removed as the person who left it for him got a strike for not paying.

Im just trying to keep this post alive so that as many people as possible see it in the hope it stops others from getting caught by him.

I personally wouldnt let that go mate.He asked you to deal outside ebay so he could sell you some damaged wheels and get away with it as thats how it looks to me.If he is genuine he should offer a FULL refund with no messing about or the wheels you wanted plain and simple.500 quids is a lot of money to lose.
Does he have a business in Munich as i`d be keen to go and have a nose around….

He said he was in sales…

not a good experience, sorry to hear it.

For anyone thinking of buying when your not sure about the buyer never agree to buy outside of ebay, if it sounds to be good to be true it usually is. Never agree use a buyers separate email address that is not registered with ebay if you do and the buy goes wrong there is really not much you can do. At least if you go through ebay your protected by their codes of conduct and they will help you pursue a claim. These days there?s far too many scammers to take the risk.

I Have payed this person for some BBS RS Lips, bolts and center caps, quite a big amount actually and I have stopped receiving any emails from him.  I talked to him via email and deposited the money into his account, this was not done through Ebay.

Now he is not replying to any emails from me, I have tried to send an SMS to his mobile and asking him to check his email but nothing.

Could somebody help me out as I'm not sure what to do.  If anybody lives in Germany are you able to call his number up and ask him what is going on?

Being all the way in Australia there is not much I can do.

Thats what he did to me, he gave the impression that the wheels were ready for dispatch but then it turned out they were not even started. So fingers crossed thats what he has done to you and your wheels will be dispatched eventually.

At one point i was contemplating calling the police in the town where he banks.

I posted this thread in the hope that it would prevent another person getting stung by the bugger, really gutted for you.

Get someone round there, slow to dispatch or not this guy should NOT be trading! £500 is a lot of money and really shouldn't be taken lightly!

Do u know what town he is in? Ive got quite a few mates in Germany,i have just got home from there a couple of days ago actually,could have paid him a visit if we were passing! I had a guy in Germany trying to do me once over a set of BBS splits i bought from him,after 3mths i still had nothing,so i got my mate from Germany to contact him through ebay to tell him that i actually go there quite frequently and i still have his address from doing the bank transfer,so i had better get the wheels or his house is getting burnt with him inside,the wheels arrived at my door 4 days later!
Let me know where he lives and maybe i can help u out somehow!

Today i tried calling a few times, wasn't a ringing tone but like a long beep repeating,
Then some pre-recorded voice from some Lady (Phone provider?) talking in German,
followed by somebody saying "Michael" and a Beep.

Left Message Twice.

Tried to call again but the same thing, once I got a "No reply" message on my phone
during the call, and again another time, other than that an answering machine by the looks
of it.

But no answer from him, so cannot get in contact.

Could anybody help?

Bit of an update, worth a read.

After initially trusting him when he TOLD ME HE WILL NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL BUT WANTS A DIRECT BANK TRANSFER I somehow decided to go ahead since he was very informative and helpful with all my questions.

So Finally after months of no replies I get a reply, apparently he was on holiday and couldn't reply or send my parts. So he sent the parts that we agreed on.

The package arrived about a month later, to my surprise parts were missing it was not complete.

I emailed him about the missing parts and he replied with a quote similar to like "You send so much emails and they confused me making me forget to send all parts"

Nonetheless all those emails I sent were ACTUALLY EMAILS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR HIM TO REMEMBER THE PARTS WE AGREED ON.

So after more delays and unanswered emails he sent me the parts that he didn't send. So after more waiting I received a package. Surprise Surprise, used second hand parts, which he did not tell me they were used, where as all the other stuff he sent me was new, but now he sends me used things.

So I emailed asking him why he sent me used parts. This time his strategy was to say that the price was SO CHEAP that it doesn't matter if they were new or used. Also again he says that he got confused on what I was actually asking for when I mentioned those parts in my previous emails, saying that he was unsure of what I meant when I was describing the parts to him, and he did not take the time to ask if he was unsure. Again another one of his attempts to explain himself and get out of trouble.

He told me that he could refund me the price if I send the parts back. So I emailed him asking him for the address………… he has not replied since.

This person is the biggest scammer, do not buy from him or even think about it. He will steal every single cent off you until you have no more. Do not even buy from him even if it's from EBAY, he will deceive you I assure you.

Please support good sellers and do not support bad ones, this way we can help eliminate these criminals that steal money from hardworking people.


SPREAD THE WORD about this rip off artist, to all friends who like BBS Rims and BBS Rim Accessories.
If anybody wants names of better sellers, please contact me as I would like to divert business away from the scammers and bring them
to good businesses who deserve the money.
