They are grey even after some back to black. :/ Only bits which came up black where the headlamp washer box things… :/
Might go and get some of this liquid polish if they indeed should be black…

You will need:
1 tin of Kiwi Polish (Not parade gloss)
1 lighter
1 glass of water
1 lint free polishing cloth (Silvett cloth is best)
1 Car with clean but faded trim
1 bag of Patience
Directions:
Dampen the polishing cloth, ensuring its clean.
Open polish, heat from underneath until it starts to liquify. Don't let it catch fire.
Using one side of the cloth (twisted around two fingers, with a flat crease free surface), gently rub polish into the trim in small circular movements.
Once you feel friction between cloth and trim, re-apply polish to the cloth. Ensure the circles overlap.
Once you have coated an area of trim with a nice layer of polish, re-dampen the cloth and ensure there are no polish flakes on it, or use the other side.
Repeat the circular motions, without polish with a light touch until its like a black mirror.
This method worked for my parade boots, and my Mk1 MR2, and gave a really deep Car Show style finish to the trim for ages. Only problem is, it take F**king ages!!!
1985 GTi Cabrio in red, Savage twin exit exhaust, rubbish alloys with nice tyres.
