can anyone see what this could easily read (with a little bit of help)

FLA400Y

maybe a stud in the F to make P, and one more in the first 0 to make a B.

and just incase you wondered, this is the original plate for the car.

You can't make an F look like a P, if you try to do it by misplacing or miscolouring a stud, you're breaking the law. Similarly, it would be really difficult to make a 0 look like a B with a stud too.

Also, what happens if your number plate falls of or droops, because of inappropriately placed mounting screws?

If you want a reg plate to look like playboy, the nearest equivalent is PLA480Y, even then it still looks like PLA480Y not PLAYBOY. I imagine the owner of PLA480Y would be fed up of your parking tickets and speed camera fines after a while, too. That's assuming the police don't get you first and the DVLA are asked to withdraw FLA400Y!

Does anyone know if the DVLA released any March 2008 plates with the KN prefix?

I'd have HED as my three letters.

Yeah, i'd leave it, you'd realise after the police pulled you over numerous times that it wouldnotbealotoffun at all. Mis-placing screws is a bad idea

Sorry for going slightly off topic.

My car was imported in '85 and by the looks of was originally put on a 'B' plate which was subsequently changed at a later date for a plate related to year of manufacture.

Does anyone know whether I'd be able to change the registration back to the original 'B' plate?

Cheers

Matt

I'm no expert but:

1. Certain styles of transfer are "one off" ones which means that once they are associated with a particular car, they can't be transferred off the car again. But I think this doesn't apply in this case, it was a rule which was only applied when people who had non-suffix registrations (eg ABC123) had applied to revert their car to this plate, after it had had its plate transferred and the car was abandoned, etc. and they'd restored it.

2. In any case, they'd probably not allow a younger (and they would now take the age as manufacture, not first registration (which for an import, can be later as yours was)) plate to be attached to the car.

Always worth asking though….

I saw an M reg mk2 golf Rallye for sale the other day 8O  DVLA apparently mucked it up when it was imported from italy in 1996, i suppose they thought it was a new car? it should of had type approval notice from VW before it could be registered though? mine did :dontknow:

I know of an Integrale on a P-reg 'cz DVLA mucked up when it was imported.

Why would you want the name of a porn mag on your plate anyway?

How about RAZ21E - I'm sure you could make that read RAZZLE

No offence meant but if i saw the reg "playboy" first thing i'd say aloud is "what a cock".
