New to the World of Golfs!

Hi Guys,
 Thought I would take a look around your forum as we have now decided to treat ourself to a watercooled VW!
 And here she is just after we bought her:





And after a bit of TLC





When we bought her she only had 2 weeks MOT left , so we put her in and she only failed on a few problems with the lights and her rear inner arch needs welding. So all in all we're pretty chuffed with her.
 Anyway I look forward to chatting to you all!

 I live in Bridgwater Somerset, We have a 4 other Vdubs but they are all air cooled.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys. She only put us back ?240 so we are daed chuffed with her at the mo. Thinking about getting some ronal turbos and bringing her down a bit. We're also on the look out for some non chewed/ripped interior as I think the previuos owner used to it house their dog!!!

I'd never change the colour, I think shes perfect as she is, for some strange reason I always seem to end up with red cars!!
Shes done 238,000 miles and the engine is a bit tappy so an engine change may be on the cards in the next year or so!

Jesus, 283,000 and still going! I was always told those engines were bomb proof!

Perhaps don't do it until it bangs, maybe a pop or a fizzle, but it sounds good.

I drive mine daily, done about 11k in the last year, he does alright!

Shes gonna be used as our daily, My partners Laguna died on us and the air cooled were costing WAY too much to run.

Welcome to the forum x we came over from aircooled to a watercooled cabriolet too! We sold our ratty 1959 bug, but we still have our 1964 split screen van :)
