Another Newbie =D
Hey, My names Aimee im 17 , joint up on here about month ago now decided its prob time i do my newbie thread! I've got a 1.8 mk1 white golf clipper carb karmen edition( I think thats how its put ) lol. Il be posting some pics up soon.
Findin the site a bit confussin im looking to Semi Euro it i.e deep wheels ( so i dnt curb them =D and lower it a bit to improve handling. It currently is waiting to go into the VW garage As i think there ssomething wrong with the carb, The car starts but the revs have to be kept high other wise it just cut out so you have to really really over rev. When the Auto chock comes in its fine for a min or two then goes back to cutting out? Anyone had similar experience?
Thank yu x

Welcome to the site, and please upload some pics 8) ,i had a GX with a similar problem, mine had 160,000 miles on it and the carb was worn out,got a second hand one in the end :? and it was fine after that, but have it checked out first, may just need a small adjustment,or an engine service if it hasnt been serviced for a good while?

mohair is the way to go, if you intend on keeping the car its so much better than vinyl!! that 15 quid sounds worth it! where are they based just out of interest? and their name?

just looked on there site and it says 195 for a mohair hood, 229.12 with the vat, so presumably the other 120 quid is for fitting (heard its bout 8hrs labour) abd an extra 15 to come to u?
