Put engine back together, started up. Found out where oil leak is from, and its corner of headgasket. Got a headgasket set, ordered a water pump, new head bolts coming tonite(cheers Pete). So gotta rip the head off now

Anyone know where I can get a K&N style filter for my 1.1 solex carb? Want one like this but for my carb

as for that rad cowling, not so sure mars red suits it, but that just my opinion, might go well inside a black 'bay :dontknow:

try k&n online. think there about 60 quid.

Found one on ebay for ?40 its for a 52mm inlet on carb. Will ave to measure mine.

just be sure it's not too high chris, i had a k&n on my 1300 and it fouled on the bonnet.

how did you clean the alternator, looks new.

had a look and i don't have a spare ashtray, sorry!

Cleaned it with petrol and a brush, its pretty new anyway.

yeah chris's altenator was already new ya cheat lol.

quick update for him…. droped head bolts off tonight and took head off, he needs a massive kick to keep going too lol.

fan housing looks cool against black bay btw, just brightens it up a treat, is it laqured chris?? i'll bring ya some when i done my brow.

I saw a mint black one in a scrappy once, but it had had an engine fire and the scrappy did'nt want to sell it!! :roll:

make sure you get that head skimmed if its leaking  :wink:

it was just the gasket that went thankfully, block and heads smoth as, never mind chris i cant wait till it's done lol

head went back on today all nice a torqued up (cheers pete lol) rocker cover to be cleaned up an painted and manifold's to be cleaned and sprayed black iirc, then thats the engine more or less sorted me thinks?

cant believe how lucky he is with that bonnet, its spotless.

That's a beautiful looking car.  I have a brilliant condition carb from my old 1.1 engine that has just come out.  I took it out with care.  It's yours for ?20.

Heads back on, torqued up, timed up

Got exhaust off as am painting that. Need to clean carb out an get a filter

Then put all engine back together and ring some bloke up whos gonna set carb up for me.

Then I just need to paint new wing and door. Put my wheels on which I mite be purchasing…..9" wide on the rear 8O hehehe :mrgreen:

Pete that bonnet is not as good as I thought. Its got quite a few very light scratches on. Suppose its better than my other one cos theres no rust or paint flaking, They mite come out if I get my mate to polish it with his machine he got

if their only light they may polish out?? i'll nip up on thurs (day off) an have a look fella. keep truckin

Painted me rocker cover an put inlet manifold back on

Took carb apart to clean jets out, an it looks like 2 jets are blocked solid

Got cambelt cover in primer, and edge of front grill as am painting that, sod paying ?50+ for a grill with a red surround when ya can paint it yasen
