when i see something like that it really saddens me that people who HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE get to work on projects like this.
Why not get somebody who at least knows their vw's to get together some pics and some info for the site rather than get a blind chimp to do it.
Where is the kharmen ghia? where is the corrado? k70 (first vw watercooled car)? where it the splittie and the bay window vans? GOD IM SO ANNOYED! if your gonna do a timeline to teach people vw's heritage you at least should put the right bloody pictures on to go with the words even if you are going to forget about some of the early landmark vehicles.

THIS IS THE VOLKSWAGEN WEBSITE, NOT SOME HERMITAGE THAT HAS MADE UP THEIR OWN CRAP SITE. WHAT THE HELL?????

It just makes me hate 'the new' volkswagen, it just again demonstrates everything thats wrong in the world.

I could go on….. but its not worth it. I love my vw and i would never drive anything else, but if vw have passed this rubbish then they have actually lost the plot completely.

Its not a lie…

the original, being a MK1, has been updated to a MK5…

Now if it said new and improved, then thats a lie

Or if it said, the original got better, then again a lie..

they are stating the obvious there, the original needed to be updated to meet EU regs etc…

The mk5 bears no resemblance to the mk1 atall. the only thing thats the same is the name Golf.
I have driven the mk5 golf gti and it was awesome to drive so its soooo big and is nowhere near as fun as a mk1 gti but as you say this is about safety.

they are only saying its the original- updated because they know the mk1 was the best ever and they are trying to convince people the mk5 is similar which is a lie.

Sorry but i very much dislike the new volkswagen. As a company i think they have lost it. The old cars will live on for longer than the new rubbish they are kicking out. I mean, wheres the lupo? that didnt last long did it!

you can say that about all cars tho…

If the world didnt 'update' then we'd never have computers, even still living in caves… LOL

VW at the moment are still making good cars, Id rather have a new Passat than a vectra, mainly because you know its gonna be good, the 'updates' on the 'new' Golf are still better updates than Ford has done to its Escort or Vauxhall has done on its Astra..

i do agree tho, and nothing else does compare to the rawness of a MK1 golf and if it wasnt for all this safety nosense and emissions rubbish that the EU demand, then I'm sure with enough pressure, VW SA would import the CITIgolf over here…
